Aluminum Tie Wires are used in chain link fencing to connect fabric to line posts and rail braces. They are easy to bend and twist around the fabric and post with a pair of pliers. The 9 gauge tie wires are typically used for residential grade fencing, while 6 gauge ties are used for heavier commercial and industrial work. Order the same size ties as your post size. So, if you have 3" line posts, then you should order 3" tie wires. For top rail, you can order 1-5/8" ties for both 1-3/8" and 1-5/8" rail. These ties won't rust because they are made from aluminum.

You should put 1 fewer tie wire per post than the height of your fence: a 6' fence would get 5 ties per post, and so on. For top rail, space out the ties every 2 feet, so a 10' span would get 5 ties.
