Our Colored Chain Link Fork Clamps are coated in black, brown, and green to match typical chain link fence colors. These clamps make up 1/2 of a traditional chain link fork latch, and must be paired with the appropriate sized fork that fits around your gate post. Fork latches are one of the most common ways to latch chain link gates, and are lockable with a padlock. They are more affordable than some other latching options, and are easy to install and use.

Installation
Place each half of the fork clamp around your gate upright at the spot where you want your latch to sit. Place the Fork (sold separately) between the two halves so that the hole on the fork lines up with the outside hole on the clamp. Slide a 5/16" x 1-1/4" carriage bolt through the clamp half, then the fork, then the other clamp half. Secure the assembly with the nut. Slide the other carriage bolt through the holes on the inside part of the clamp and tighten with a nut. The fork part of the latch should move freely inside the clamp.
Tip: If your carriage bolts are galvanized, you can spray paint them with a rust protecting spray paint to match them to your fence and hardware.
